It was built in the 1600s to put on water shows and naval battles for the King and Queen
Here you can rent rowboats and take a leisurely paddle on the pond. There are several snack stands along the shore too. A great place to stop for a cold beer and do some people watching.

Jardines de Cecilio Rodriguez
These tranquil gardens are named in honor of the main gardener who designed them in the 1940s. He worked here for 80 years starting at age 8!

The best time of year to see the roses in full bloom is May and June. However we still saw blooms in October!
Built in the late 1800s for the purpose of hosting temporary art exhibits, the Velazquez Palace is free to the public. The iron and glass ceilings provide a lot of natural light.

Formerly used as a greenhouse, the Glass Palace is in the shape of a Greek cross and made almost entirely of glass and iron framework set on a brick base.
Retiro Park is so big the best way to see it is by bike. Renting bikes from nearby Rent & Roll was easy and affordable!
